Electric vehicles are the rage right now, with companies like Tesla at the forefront. Now, BMW has unveiled a concept vehicle, the BMW Vision Neue Klasse X. With it, they are challenging competitors like Tesla and Mercedes-Benz in the electric vehicle market.
“It is redefining the BMW brand,” said Oliver Zipse. “We still believe that we can make a difference in the dynamics of the drivetrain.” The platform wants to potentially show enhanced precision, dynamics, efficiency, and driving pleasure. It follows the unveiling of the sedan version, the BMW Vision Neue Klasse, at the IAA 2023. BMW seems to be committed to electrification across, the BMW Vision Neue Klasse X showcases BMW’s future model line-up.
Also, The sixth generation of BMW eDrive technology takes the overall vehicle efficiency of the Neue Klasse to a new level. Among other things, the volumetric energy density of the new round lithium-ion battery cells is more than 20 percent higher than the previously used prismatic cells. In combination with the transition to an 800-volt system, they accelerate the charging speed by up to 30 percent.
