International Energy Agency report predicts ‘peak’ demand for fossil fuels in 2030, but oil and gas investment ‘too high’ to hit climate targetsreport said research showed peaks in oil, natural gas and coal demand were visible this decade – the first time this has happened.

It warned that despite the growth of renewable power, there is still double the amount of investment in fossil fuels as there should be for the world to successfully meetcontroversially approved the development of the Rosebank oil field ‘Governments, companies and investors need to get behind clean energy transitions rather than hindering them,’ said Fatih Birol, executive director of the International Energy Agency
