EVAP, AFEVA hold talks with VinFast Executives in Hanoi, Vietnam

with VinFast executives in Hanoi, Vietnam, to explore the establishment of a Vietnam Electric Vehicle Association. The strategic meeting on August 18, 2023 aimed to enhance collaboration and advance the vision of sustainable electric mobility in the region.

Led by EVAP President Edmund Araga and AFEVA Director Dennis Chuah, the delegation included key figures like EVAP Chairman Rommel Juan and Chairman Emeritus Ferdi Raquelsantos. Mr. Rico Mariano, Philippine Commercial Counsellor to Vietnam, facilitated the dialogue. During the session, President Edmund Araga presented the Philippines’ EV industry’s current state and potential, while Chairman Rommel Juan highlighted incentives from the Electric Vehicle Industry and Driving Act . Chairman Emeritus Ferdi Raquelsantos emphasized the incentives tied to electric E-jeepney production, underscoring the potential of electric mobility.

Advancements were shared during the meeting to broaden perspective towards international standards and infrastructures. The discussions were crucial for the potential Vietnam Electric Vehicle Association, aligning with AFEVA’s goals for regional cooperation, knowledge sharing, and technological exchange.
