An electric vehicle passenger shuttle that operated from June through December last year in downtown Oceanside will return this summer under a new two-year contract with the operator.
Air pollution, downtown traffic, and the need for parking are reduced by using the electric shuttles. The San Diego Association of Governments will contribute $250,000 annually to support the program, and Visit Oceanside, which advertises on the vehicles, has offered $100,000 for each year.
