Dang Wangi OCPD Asst Comm Noor Dellhan Yahaya said the suspect was arrested within a few hours of the incident and he has been remanded until April 19.
"We also seized various items including a motorcycle, a helmet, several pieces of clothing, a pair of gloves and a lighter."We are investigating under Section 435 of the Penal Code," he said when contacted on Friday ."We have received 10 police reports lodged on the incident.It was reported 13 motorcycles and four electric scooters were destroyed in a fire in front of a popular mall here on Thursday afternoon.
A Kuala Lumpur Fire and Rescue Department spokesman said that, in the 3.45pm incident, a total of 15 firefighters, with three fire engines from Tun Razak and Keramat fire stations, rushed to the scene. "Upon arrival, we found that nine motorcycles and four electric scooters were completely burned, while four other motorcycles were burned between three and 20%," he said in a statement.
According to the spokesman, the fire was brought under control at 4.04pm and there were no casualties.Article type: free
