LINGEN, Germany — For 35 years, the Emsland nuclear power plant in northwestern Germany has reliably provided millions of homes with electricity and many with well-paid jobs in what was once an agricultural backwater. Now, it and the country’s two other remaining nuclear plants are being shut down. Germany long ago decided to phase out both fossil fuels and nuclear power over concerns that neither is a sustainable source of energy.
Rt to FOXNEWS... newsmax...oann.
Nuclear is still safe way to produce energy.
Meanwhile CZ is temporarily shutting down solar arrays due to surplus power. Perhaps they're on to something.
meanwhile , china opens several coal fired plants a month, so this means nothing
Biggest most untapped energy resource we have rises in the east and sets in the west…everyday
Ficken Dummkopfs
Now they have to rely on Russia just to heat their homes.
germany L
There can be no serious energy debate when the cleanest of all power is not up for discussion. There is a reason for that and it isn’t environmental…
This such a bad choice
What qualifies anyone in this thread to critique this move? Your blue check subscription doesn't make you an expert on energy.
🔴 Idiots.
Don’t let anyone on the left tell you they are pro environment if they are anti nuclear. It’s the cleanest and most efficient energy known to man.
Headlining that nuclear power isn’t sustainable is 100% propaganda.
Lol, viel Glück.
They're about to freeze to death.
🤡👍
So they turning to chemical energy?
Yes, shut down nuclear power plants in the country. Instead, buy nuclear power and coal power from neighboring countries. Germany looks like it's going green and sustainable.😆😆😆
Ridiculously stupid
I trust German engineering. Hydrogen certainly adds up but phasing nuclear out right now is questionable
Germans have to be the most self-loathing people on the planet.
This is stupid. They are cutting off their only source of long term stable power production in exchange for intermittent and unreliable sources.
The hippies screwed us out of nuclear power.
These are the type of decisions why most people don’t take the Green movement and climate doomers seriously. It’s all virtue signaling and zero reasoning
I guess they enjoy being at the mercy of Russia.
Good luck with that Meantime, coal and fossil fuel use will inevitably increase in Germany
Poor planning on their part.
Read John Coleman's Committee of 300. All planned, all about billions to be genocide and the remaining to be enslaved.
Remember when German engineering was the envy of the world? Now they have to engineer a political solution.
Both are sustainable.
Good luck with that.
Germans choosing to subscribe to a cult . Why am I not surprised.
It's weird that people have forgotten about the tank battle that took place at a nuclear plant just a few months ago.
Time to fry and freeze. Blackouts in the way
Germany is just kicking balls into its own net.
🤡🤡🤡🤡😂😂😂🤡🤡🤡
Both are literally the only sustainable form of energy.
Good luck, see you real soon!!!!
Good luck
Lol
Coming in 2024: new nuclear plants! 🤡 🌎
Guess at least it’s April not December. Next winter will not be fun for y’all
Wouldnt be surprised if thise clowns are buying coal/gas/oil straight from russia at this point
The race to please globalists.
Lolwut
GovWhitmer
They’re going to regret this.
How's nuclear not a sustainable source or energy? Are we running out of atoms?
Not disclosed. Getting power from nuclear plants across the border from other country's nuclear power plants. Smoke and mirrors.
Sun doesn’t shine much in Northern Europe, not sustainable
And I always thought the Germans were smart
Why should the rest of the world follow a country who started two world wars against them in the same century?
This just in, they shut down nuclear, which is almost green, and are going to have rolling power outages
I wonder how many people they will Holocaust this time.
They are buying fuel from Saudi Arabia that buys it from Russia.
Nuclear is 100% sustainable and environmentally safe when the plant is being run by folks hired due to their merit instead of for diversity.
I guess they want to kill people.
They are demolishing Michael Schumacher's home village to make way for Lignite (really dirty coal) mining but nuclear fission isn't 'green'. The logical hoops these people jump through is amazing. This is utter madness.
Idiots
Nuclear isn’t a sustainable source of energy?
Your leaders hate you
Idiots
As 🇨🇳 builds coal plants
What a bunch of dumbasses😂😂😂…yea I’m sure that won’t come back to haunt you😂😂😂…virtue signaling bs keep people warm
Let them fail.
Nothing that has an expiration date is sustainable. If ever the sun, wind & water disappear oil & gas won't matter.
How’s German manufacturing doing these days?
Wow, just wow, this will have consequences, but not what the Germans think.
Goodbye nuclear reactors
Hydrogen is a unstable fuel. Highly explosive.
Someone is getting ready for war. You don't shut down big targets like that for some dumb stances like that.
fission is the future but it’ll be too late by then….
Germany will pass the consequences on to their international partners. Germany is not taking responsibility nor showing solidarity on this subject.
Charlot2409 And they are very fond of lignite. Go figure.
🤷🏻♂️
Oilfield_Rando is gonna get a laugh outta this.
A blow for nuclear warming!
Wrong move.
Wise choice.
some of the greenest most efficient energy in the world is nuclear. the utter non sense continues
🤡🤡🤡🤡
Huge mistake
That is a grave blunder.
They will regret this…
