A fleet of rental electric bikes are being rolled out across Nottingham in an effort to boost sustainable travel. Similar to the e-scooter trials, the bikes are available to hire across the city on a pay-as-you-go basis from Friday, April 14.
According to the app, bikes require an initial £1 payment, with users being charged 19p per minute. This works out at £12.40 for a one-hour hire.Chris Carter, the city council's head of transport strategy, said: ”I’m delighted that we’ve launched e-bikes in Nottingham through this new partnership with Lime. I hope the bikes will help more people get involved with cycling and perhaps even try it for the first time.
Alice Pleasant, public affairs manager at Lime, said: “Expanding our e-bike service into Nottingham is a key step in our ambition to give cities nationwide the tools to transition away from cars and meet their net-zero targets.
Are they going to be ridden on the pavements like the yellow death traps?
And are they just gonna be dumped everywhere like the bloody e scooters are then?
