The state of disaster on South Africa's energy crisis, declared by minister of co-operative governance and traditional affairs Thembisile Nkadimeng in February, was terminated 'with immediate effect' on Wednesday.

According to Nkadimeng, the state of disaster enabled the government to enhance interventions by the national energy crisis committee in terms of the Energy Action Plan.fix Eskom and improve the availability of existing supply;accelerate procurement of new capacity from renewables, gas and battery storage;fundamentally transform the electricity sector to achieve long-term energy security.”

Government will, through the energy crisis committee, continue to engage, cooperate and coordinate its actions to reduce and eradicate load-shedding using existing legislation and contingency arrangementsAs a structure that integrates areas of responsibility and resources within the government, the national energy crisis committee provides support to the minister in the identification and resolution of bottlenecks, said Leso.

The minister said the government will, through the energy crisis committee, continue to engage, co-operate and co-ordinate its actions to reduce and eradicate load-shedding using existing legislation and contingency arrangements.

South Africa is terminating the Eskom state of disasterSolidarity has received word from the State Attorney’s office that President Cyril Ramaphosa’s administration is ending the national state of disaster over the energy crisis. Great news Now we just need their sneaky BS exonerating themselves and Eskom of declaring no disclosure / no financial statements to be taken to court as well. This dictatorship must come to an end for the good of the country. Bit worrying if the government does not know what is legal or not in theirt own country... It costs time and money to enact regulations and even to undo them.
