Third Culture Bakery is slated to open a new storefront at 549 Irving Street in San Francisco by the end of the year. After months of delay, Third Culture Bakery is set to open its Inner Sunset outpost next month.
Co-owner Wenter Shyu confirmed with SFGATE that the new storefront is expected to open on Feb. 11. A soft opening event is slated for Feb. 1, which will offer 20 percent off pastries and drinks in addition to free gift cards to the first 50 guests. "We'll be offering our creme brulee mochi waffles for the grand opening day festivities and a brand-new red velvet mochi muffin and salted caramel mochi donut," Shyu said via email.
Last fall, Shyu told SFGATE that the Inner Sunset location was scheduled to open in October, but that the opening was pushed further out when he and co-owner Sam Butarbutar were asked to redo the counters and ceiling. Third Culture Bakery faced additional delays as it waited for its final health inspection, which didn’t occur until the end of December, Shyu said. Staffers are currently being trained ahead of the soft opening.
