Motorists drive west towards the setting sun on a warm afternoon in Long Beach, Calif., during a September heat wave.
over decades have concluded that the burning of fossil fuels releases greenhouse gases into the Earth's atmosphere that trap the sun's ultraviolet radiation and results in warming. While government action around the world has begun to try to limit the emissions causing climate change, the pace of that effort has so far failed to keep temperatures from continuing to rise.
“For both gases these are the highest concentrations from the satellite record,” the Copernicus Climate Change Service wrote in its report. “By including other records, they are the highest levels for over 2 million years for carbon dioxide and over 800,000 years for methane.”
“On record”. Science proves the Earth has been much hotter. Snowy Utah was once a tropical climate during Jurassic period. Fact.
