Abarth has revealed no details on the model as of yet, but claims that it will be ‘more Abarth than ever’. Based on the Fiat 500e, it will most likely adopt its larger 42kWh battery pack as standard, paired with a more potent powertrain for a boost in performance – due to the added power though, expect range to drop below the 199-mile figure of the range-topping 500e.
In its most powerful form, the Fiat 500e produces just 116bhp for a 9sec 0-62mph time, quite some way from the 178bhp of the range-topping combustion-powered Abarth 595 Competizione. Though in the segment above, the, one of the only other hot hatch EVs on the market, produces 228bhp for a 7sec 0-62mph time.
With the ordinary 42kWh Fiat 500e priced from £23,495, expect the Abarth EV to cost from somewhere in the region of £30,000. For the final details though, stay tuned for its reveal on November 22.
