It’s like a petrol station, but for electric vehicles.

Tenaga Nasional Berhad entered into a strategic partnership with Gamuda Land to build two Electron Stations for electric vehicle charging at their property development projects in Selangor.

The future electron stations will be powered by rooftop solar panels that will help offset electricity from the grid and support a greener environment. TNB Chief Strategy and Ventures Officer Datuk Ir. Megat Jalaluddin Megat Hassan said the MoU would pave the way for TNB and Gamuda Land to collaborate towards increasing the usage of electric vehicles in Malaysia and achieve Malaysia’s net zero emissions aspiration by 2050.

All of these initiatives will require substantial investments and no individual entity will be able to shoulder this responsibility alone. Therefore, cooperation like what TNB and Gamuda Land are doing today is very much in line with supporting the government’s vision. Gamuda Land’s Chief Operating Officer Chu Wai Lune Under the MoU, both companies will be working to explore other sustainable energy initiatives under TNB’s offering at Gamuda Land’s townships.

In April, Gamuda Cove was recognised as the first 5-Diamond LCCF private township in Malaysia by the Malaysia Green Technology and Climate Change Corporation , whereas its Central Business District is GBI-Gold certified.
