Mercedes CEO says Europe’s gas crisis will accelerate its shift to renewables

Europe’s gas crisis will be “a catalyst” for Mercedes-Benz to push deeper into clean energy, says its CEO. In an interview Sunday, Ola Källenius told CNN Business that the automaker had been leaning more toward wind energy for its operations due to the long-running power crunch, which has weighed on millions of households across the region since Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

“We’re going to diversify, we’re going to make ourselves more resilient, and of course we’re going to go carbon-free,” he added. The objectives have the potential to dovetail with the company’s broader ambitions. Like other global automakers, Mercedes is currently working to expand its lineup of electric vehicles as it seeks to catch up with industry pioneer Tesla\n \n .

Better them than us

SilverKayondo Please take us that side it's what we want now.

For I (know) their works and their thoughts: it shall come, that I will gather all nations and tongues; and they shall come and see My glory. Isaiah 66:18 (KJV)

Hear, O LORD (when) I cry with my voice: have mercy also upon me, and answer me. Psalm 66:7 (KJV)

Are they so stupid to not think electric cars need oil to manufacture & charge? Plus the huge carbon foot print to manufacture & mine, destroying much water using coal plants to manufacture, beyond stupid. clean gas cars are the true clean future

… which also are skyrocketing in price

Yes but not a shift to electrical 😂🤣 It's beyond a gas crisis: it's a global energy crisis and electricity is missing...we don't produce enough electricity in Europe with that actual situation (Ukraine war)

This is all by design by the Green Mob to deprive us of our fossil fuels, making them prohibitively expensive. Now we all have to buy a prohibitively expensive EV and recharge it with prohibitively expensive electricity if there isn't a blackout, rationed & the grid can handle it

Public lands and bodies of water need solar panels and/or wind turbines installed yesterday. A global project benefiting countries that support renewable energy while ridding themselves of tyrants and their greedy policies to fix pricing to line their pockets.

Well, they didn’t have another option tbh
