Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and the German chancellor are visiting the western Newfoundland town of Stephenville later today, where they're set to sign a green energy deal.

A local company has plans to build a zero-emission plant that will use wind energy to produce hydrogen and ammonia for export.

Hydrogen is seen as a critical component of Europe's plan to reduce its reliance on Russian fossil fuels, particularly in light of the war in Ukraine and the recent reductions in the supply of Russian natural gas to Germany and other countries. Cabinet ministers and German business leaders will join Trudeau and Olaf Scholz at a hydrogen trade show in Stephenville this evening.

The town's mayor, Tom Rose, said in an interview he believes the location and existing infrastructure make it an ideal location for such a venture, and the area is poised to be "the green energy hub of North America." Scholz and vice-chancellor Robert Habeck, who is in charge of the country’s energy file, are visiting Canada for three days this week.

Are we solving a problem just to create more problems for us and the environment 🤔

Another useless announcement and stupid photo op There is no hydrogen industry, just another deep pit of taxpayer’s money to be squandered lining Liberal pockets.

Besties 🤨

Hydrogen- lol

This isn't why Olaf is here, it would take Years to get the infrastructure ready to export hydrogen & Germany needs energy now. This seems more likely:

Well. Of the all the negative stuff said about JT. This is prolly the best thing he has done in a year or all term. Actually building local.

thedave2006 Its too bad you can’t trade $LWCTF anymore

More Green theater

Let trudeau go up in a hydrogen balloon for a very, very long ride !!

Trump was correct about Germany and it’s energy

Wind farms kill birds and use oil to run. This is ridiculous.

Maybe some of this money can be shifted

The anti-Trudeau crowd really seems unhinged more than usual when commenting on benign trade announcements

Trudeau hates Canada/Canadians And will do anything the Europeans WEF says

How much energy does it take to make Hydrogen?

CA is making H deal with GER as money exchange is less there. Why? As they have not billed £. CA equity need demand, $85 Billion loans will get secured. Imagine. Rome was not built in a day, Rome was built everyday. TheTorontoSun TorontoStar CdnPressNews DailyMail

God, the virtue signalling NEVER ends with this tool. Natural Gas is the answer - but Trudeau wants Canada to be a third world country. TrudeauDestroyingCanada

Green energy is always a plus. Incoming f*ck trudeau crowd tho.

i find it hilarious germany is bringing in coal because their green energy failed them and they get their dirty fossil fuels from russia just so they can maintain an image.. canada is right fucked because JT will be happy to sacrifice canadians for his so called climate plan
