This income cap requirement is meant to help less affluent people afford electric cars — and incentivize automakers to expand their customer base. Sedans have to be under $55,000 to qualify, and the cost of trucks, vans, and sports utility vehicles can't exceed $80,000. A certain percentage of minerals in the EV battery must come from North America or a country that has a free trade agreement with the U.S.That's expected to complicate things for auto companies.
One ecar battery can power up to 200 ebikes! Swapping a ice for ev car is still a car in traffic, killing over 40k people per year and growing, requires massive infrastructure vs ebikes- cheap to buy/maintain/bike lanes cheap to build/maintain.
Extends* bc we’ve had it.
