The commission is partly focused on cutting peak demand from large energy users, mainly employers, including pharmaceutical makers, food processors, data centres and other industries. The commission’s proposal stems from the National Energy Security Framework, the Government’s response to extra threats to electricity supplies posed by the war in Ukraine.
