The enormous infotainment setup is previewed in the company’s teaser images . Like the standard EQE, the EQE SUV also features turbine-style air vents and a high centre console with a storage shelf between the seats. The saloon’s steering wheel has been transferred to the crossover, too.
It isn’t really any surprise that the Mercedes EQE SUV shares its interior with the normal EQE, as both cars are based on the same EVA platform. We expect Mercedes will also sell the crossover with a similar range of powertrains, although the SUV’s blunt styling will lower its maximum range. Both these powertrains should also be available on the EQE SUV – and the entry-level 300 model should still be capable of more than 300 miles per charge, despite its aerodynamic disadvantages. We expect more powertrains, such as the middling 288bhp 350+ model, should also join the fold.
