Research published in Nutrition Journal reports that a combination of intermittent fasting and protein pacing is an effective short-term nutritional intervention for weight loss and improvements in body composition.

Despite the demonstrated benefits of both traditional IF and nutrient-dense IF-P regimens, there is little research comparing the effects of extended IF1-P versus an IF2-P meal pattern, matched for total weekly kcals, macronutrient distribution, and physical activity energy expenditure, on body weight and composition, hormones, and hunger ratings in overweight and obese men and women during short-term WL.

All experimental procedures were performed in adherence with related New York State regulations and the Federal Wide Assurance, consistent with the National Commission for the Protection of Human Subjects of Biomedical and Behavioral Research, and in agreement with the Helsinki Declaration . This trial was registered at clinicaltrials.gov as NCT04327141.
