Johnson pushes this just days after vulnerability of a nuclear plant to terrorists or opposing armies became obvious in Ukraine. Seems dodgy Boris isn't into the UK being secure, safe, having longevity or quality of life. But hey, he'll look like crap to pretend that's normal.

Like Thatcher a promise of nuclear power which failed. The answer is with better insulation for old and new homes. This will reduce the use of energy now where nuclear will take years. Wind, solar and tidal power must be advanced sooner than later.

Let's face it, if this strategy had been produced by Labour, the Guardian would be lauding it. Opposing for opposing sake.

Boris Johnson’s energy plan backs big increases in nuclear, wind and solar power🔴 The Prime Minister says ‘bold’ steps will ‘reduce dependence on power sources exposed to volatile international prices’ FREEDOM is VERY EXPENSIVE.... dependence on power sources is not it ! if we turn off the utility the standing charge and vat and the overheads of the government agency offs = offgem off watt buggeroffs and so on. Perhaps the U.K. should buy the surplus nuclear power stations in Germany and keep them online and supply the U.K. via the interconnector and sell surplus off to Europe. Quick fix . BorisJohnson
