So far, the growing spill appears to have remained out to sea and has not impacted the Louisiana shoreline. He said the source of the pollution was located in Bay Marchand, Block 4, and was believed to be crude oil from an undersea pipeline owned by Houston-based energy company Talos Energy.Talos said it was investigating the cause of the leak, but a statement provided by its spokesperson said field observations indicated the company's assets were not the source.

Spokesperson Brian L Grove said it had hired Clean Gulf Associates to respond to the spill, even though the company believed it was not responsible for the oil in the water.Talos said it had dispatched two 29-metre response vessels to the scene to conduct oil recovery operations.
