Ford, LG and Samsung among companies in discussions with government and local authorities

The UK government has held talks with six manufacturers about building “gigafactory” electric car battery plants as part of its efforts to improve the prospects of the British automotive industry.are among the companies that have had early-stage discussions with the government or local authorities, it is understood., as well as two efforts by smaller startups, InoBat and Britishvolt. The talks were first reported by the Financial Times.

What a massive elephant in the room! Cars aren't made in 'gigafactories' from batteries. Regardless how it's powered, the private car is blatantly unsustainable therefore obsolete. Greenwashing it with 'lithium shampoo' won't cover it. How f*cking dull can neoliberals get, FFS?

That is great news. My EV was getting so hot in the sun had to open all the windows. Could this heat be used to charge the batteries like the regeneration system?. Just a thought. Cannot use solar panels because of the radar system in the roof.

so, just in case - do you already have a plan for the safe disposal of old batteries?
