The battery-electric Cadillac Optiq premium compact SUV goes on sale this autumn after first being seen at the end of last year. The Optiq completes the company's electric SUV lineup, which also includes the larger Lyriq and Vistiq, and flagship Escalade IQ.The company promises it will keep its internal combustion SUV family alive in parallel, at least to 2030.The company says it's been watching the compact EV SUV segment as it wants to set a new standard in space.
Like many EVs and luxury SUVs, the Optiq features signature lighting choreography when the driver enters or exits the vehicle.The Optiq comes equipped with an 85-kilowatt-hour battery pack with two motors and all-wheel drive. The combination offers 300 horsepower and 354 pound-feet of torque.The included dual-level charger cord plugs into an appliance-style four-pronged outlet, with professional installation or a standard three-pronged outlet if a GM home charger is not installed.
