Hong Kong actor Lee Lung Kei appeared at the Shatin Magistrates’ Court on May 28 to support his 36-year-old fiancee Chris Wong.Wong, a Chinese national, is facing seven charges – including overstaying, using counterfeit documents and making false statements to obtain an entry permit, among others.The prosecution agreed to hear Wong’s plea while the defence requested a three-week adjournment, which the court granted.
He said: “The case has entered the judicial process, and I’m not in a good mood. I’m sorry, but I need to rush to the lawyer’s office now to discuss Chris’ case ... I’m really sorry.”Earlier this month, Lee described the wait for Wong’s final verdict as “painful” and expressed hopes for a swift resolution to the case, which has been ongoing for over two months.
The actor previously shared in an online talk show that he grappled with loss of motivation and sleep following his fiancee’s arrest. Lee said earlier in February that he will continue standing by Wong despite her controversies.
