Renewable Energy News

Tonye Irims,Wisolar

WiSolar, an on-demand prepaid solar utility, has said there is a need for electricity as accessible and affordable as home WiFi across Africa.

With rising population and huge solar energy deficits, African countries like Nigeria with huge renewable potential have struggled to maintain grip connectivity and provide electricity to unserved and underserved regions.

“With the WiSolar app, customers can instantly view their remaining days and kilowatt-hours balance. It’s like topping up your prepaid mobile data or adding credit to your WiFi router,” he said. Irims noted that the company has fine-tuned a plan that enables property developers and corporate organisations to join a network, adding that by completing Know Your Customer verifications within the app, customers could start earning commissions from customer recharges.

Nigeria Bar Association and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission have reiterated their commitment to tackle corruption in the country.
