The offences, he said, ranged from meter bypass and illegal meter tampering, resulting in significant financial losses amounting to hundreds of millions of naira for the company. Tinuoye emphasised that under the Electricity Act, energy theft is now recognised as a criminal offence, carrying severe penalties, including imprisonment.

The Board of Eko Electricity Distribution Company has retained Dr Tinuade Sanda as the ’s Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer . Inter-Party Advisory Council has unveiled a strategic action plan aimed at deepening democracy in Nigeria over the next four years.
