A Wylie student was hit and killed by a truck in Dallas while riding an electric scooter, officials say.

Max died on March 15, 2024, after he was struck by a vehicle while riding his scooter in Dallas.A 9-year-old who died days after being struck by a truck while riding his scooter in Far East Dallas is being remembered by his family as a “goofy kid could make anyone smile.”“Max lived his life to the fullest at full speed, he worked hard on and off the football field,” the post reads, adding anyone that met Max will never forget him.

Investigators determined the 9-year-old was traveling eastbound on San Paula Avenue on an electric scooter when he was hit by a pickup traveling southbound on Materhorn Drive.Max’s death was ruled an accident by the Dallas County medical examiner’s office. Records show he died Friday afternoon at the Children’s Medical Center Dallas.His family said on the fundraising page that Max was the ultimate teammate for his football team, where he loved and cared about the players and coaches.
