The Foyle Metro fleet is now made up entirely of electric, zero emission buses

Translink officially launched the new electric bus service last month, making Derry one of the first cities anywhere in the UK and Ireland to operate a fully zero emission service.

“This is great news for our customers, particularly as we approach the busy Halloween period, making it easy for more people to access the city and offering more convenience whether you want to travel for work or leisure purposes. “Translink’s new zero emissions electric bus fleet is another fantastic step forward in our efforts to become a greener and cleaner city centre. The retention of Derry~Londonderry’s Purple Flag status, which CCI manages, is another huge success for the city. This status recognises the city's thriving evening and night-time economy, and we are delighted to work with our evening time economy providers and partners, including Translink, to secure this accolade.
