Stop by the Avon Lake Public Library, 32649 Electric Blvd., now through Halloween to view the giant festive display outside the main entrance.
The skeleton was made from eight-inch carved foam boards and PVC back in 2021 when it was originally on display at the Perkins home. All the parts were then hand-carved, glued, and clear coated, resulting in an eight-foot long hand, 10-foot long lower arm and 12-foot long upper arm bones. Perkins is donating his 11-foot tall by eight-foot wide carved pumpkin on temporary loan as a part of the display at the ALPL.
This weekend the popular Boo by the Woods takes place at the library and the Lorain County Metroparks Kopf Reservation. While the ticketed events are sold out, there are still plenty of things to do with the family to get into the Halloween spirit Saturday from 4 to 9 p.m.
