Exclusive: Former executive suing energy baron’s company and former directors alleges he uncovered ‘sham transactions’ and insider trading

energy baron Trevor St Baker has invoked his right against self-incrimination in a court case brought by a former executive at ERM Power, who alleges he uncovered “sham transactions” and insider trading.last week found that St Baker and his son, Philip, along with nine other former directors of ERM Power, should be excused from making certain disclosures in the case because doing so would expose them to “a real and appreciable risk of criminal prosecution”.

The next year a former executive at ERM, Kent Quinlan, filed a civil case in the Queensland supreme court, claiming he made whistleblower disclosures about corporate misconduct at the publicly listed company in 2012.Quinlan is suing ERM Power, an associated company and 11 former directors for breach of contract, breach of statutory duty and breach of confidence.
