While the world continues to wait with baited breath for more details on Tesla's long-promised more-affordable all-electric car, Volkswagen is moving ahead in Europe with an all-new concept car from its MEB platform, the Volkswagen ID2all hatchback that promises to offer up to 280 miles of range with a price tag around 25,000 euros, or about $26,500.There are a few catches with the ID2all, at least for now.
While VW may not have any immediate plans to bring this new model to the U.S., at least so far, it is planning on launching a total of 10 new EVs by 2026, including the European ID3, the U.S. long-wheelbase ID Buzz, and the upcoming ID7 sedan, which is expected to show up uncamouflaged this spring, among seven more to come. VW also promises a compact SUV and another compact model for Europe that's priced under 20,000 euros, which we also probably have no hope of getting stateside.
Wouldn’t that make it an all electric Polo? 🤔
