Tourism Ireland has quietly shelved the longrunning 'Global Greening', citing the energy crisis

THE GLOBAL GREENING campaign that lights up famous international locations in green for St Patrick’s Day will not go ahead this year due to the energy crisis.

“It is a unique opportunity for Irish tourism and Tourism Ireland will be rolling out a huge programme of promotional activity over the coming week to leverage that opportunity.” The Greening campaign was also put on pause last year in the weeks after Russia invaded Ukraine as it was felt that it would not be appropriate for the international campaign to proceed as normal amid the war.

Tourism Ireland CEO Niall Gibbons is due to step down from his role in April after more than two decades in the company. 36 Irish politicians are travelling to 41 countries to mark St Patrick’s Day this year in an effort to use the day to foster relationships with other countries.

More erosion of Irish culture. This has nothing to do with energy. Government buildings are still lit up at night. More lies.

Except there is no energy crisis. We can see that by the billions these ‘energy firms’ are making annually.

Lighting up public buildings for the latest cause du jour is the height of virtue signalling nonsense that does nothing but cost the taxpayer money

No issues sending 30 politicians and their staff all around the world on taxpayer funded holidays though.
