FOX Weather's Jason Frazer spoke with LiveNOW from FOX's Josh Breslow about how a new special hopes to help calm fears over turbulence on an airplane.
"When we fly through them, the air currents within the eddies push against the wings of the aircraft and bounce it up and down," Williams continued. "A signature feature of climate change at flight cruising levels is that the tropics are warming faster than the polar regions. Therefore, the temperature difference between low and high latitudes is strengthening and driving stronger wind shears in the jet streams. This in turn enhances the formation of turbulent patches of air, which could triple because of climate change according to our calculations," Williams continued.

Experts say too much fiber in your diet could be playing a part in the frequency of turbulence and could also make it more common on flights in the future.
And it ‘could’ also be there ten times as many flights as 20 years ago meaning there are more airplanes to encounter bad weather. Nah. That can’t be it. Like ‘drought’ isn’t 40 mil drinking from a water system designed for 20 mil people.

This story is ridiculous. My uncle has worked high level at the FAA for over 4 decades and we just discussed the absurdity of this idea. Turbulence has been happening forever and at the same level of frequency. Google it.
