Climate change has resulted in a global spike in temperatures, which, in turn, has increased the likelihood of frequent and intense heat waves. Amid these concerns, the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) warns that heat waves increase in intensity, frequency, and duration with every 0.5°C increase in temperature.
