EMA seeks proposals for two 600MW hydrogen-ready CCGTs

The Energy Market Authority has launched the second request for a proposal for new electricity generation capacity amidst the growing power demand in Singapore.EMA’s projections showed that Singapore’s power system peak demand is expected to grow by at least 3.7% over the next six years, reaching between 10.1 gigawatts and 11.8 GW by 2030.

“As Singapore’s electricity demand continues to grow, it is crucial that we ensure we have sufficient generation capacity to power our homes, workplaces, and communities. We welcome industry participation in our journey to shape a greener and more resilient energy future for Singapore,” EMA Chief Executive Ngiam Shih Chun said.
