The regular session must end by midnight Wednesday. Legislators hope several major policy reforms pass before then.

During the hearing, some minority members raised concerns about whether the state board of education could be trusted to enact regulations that followed the constitution.“They’re going to philosophically follow what the attorney general tells them to follow,” said Rep. Andy Josephson, an Anchorage Democrat.
