South Africa has gone 18 consecutive days without load shedding, the longest period so far in 2024. The suspension of power cuts is due to the sustained availability of generation capacity and emergency reserves at power stations. Eskom plans to leverage wind energy to mitigate the impact of load shedding during the winter season.
