And as local businesses are busy preparing to welcome visitors, new modelling has shed light on what the future looks like for our snow resorts under different climate change scenarios.It's just days out from the opening weekend of Australia's ski season and at Mount Buller resort in eastern Victoria, the snow is mostly from a machineHis family have owned and operated the business since the 80s.

Previous research has shown snow cover in Australia has declined by around 30 per cent since the 1950s. "If we want to do something about this problem, we need to be able to define it and we need to be able to define it in terms of Australian regions - not just in global - and then we need to know what we've got to do."
