The 150-million-year old fossil of a stegosaurus that has been named"Apex" by the paleontologist who discovered it could become one of the most expensive fossils ever sold this summer when it's auctioned off by Sotheby's at an expected price tag of $4 million to $6 million.

The auction house did not name the seller but called him a"well-known and respected commercial paleontologist" who discovered the stegosaurus on his private land with no other fossils nearby., a geologic formation where fossils have been found since the 1880s, and can be most closely compared the to the stegosaurusIf the fossil sells for $4 million or more, it will be the eighth-most-expensive fossil ever auctioned .
