Secretary to the Government of the Federation , George Akume, has blamed the country’s security challenges on climate change.
Represented at the event by his Senior Special Assistant , Prof Bolaji Babatunde, the minister stressed that the insecurity in the country was largely ecological. He said that the NDC-IF document was of immense contribution to tackling climate change issues in the country. “The mobilisation of finance for the effective implementation of NDC is imperative. The latest report from the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change says the window to limit global warming to 1.5° centigrade is rapidly closing in,” Akume said.
