With its sharp corners and dominating physical presence, spotting a Tesla Cybertruck is sure to be a jarring experience for years — but registration data shows it'll at least become a less novel one shortly. That's because sales of the Tesla Cybertruck are spiking, according to analysis of U.S. nationwide registration data by SP Global Mobility.
Tesla has only managed 7,879 in that same time period, while Rivian is lagging behind with 3,881 registrations. According to Tesla CEO Elon Musk, Cybertruck production reached 1,300 per week just last week, indicating the brand is aiming to overtake Ford's electric truck share by the end of the year. This rapid increase in registrations is even more remarkable when you account for the sheer cost of the Cybertruck compared to its competitors.
