The number of faulty smart meters in the UK has risen by a million to 3.98 million, according to data from the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero . Some customers have been getting huge bills because of the faults, reports the BBC.
According to Smart Energy GB, a non-profit organisation, there are now almost 35 million smart meters in the UK and 88.6% are working as they should.
