The bikes have been a growing concern in the city following a spate of incidents which previously saw hundreds of locals write to Glasgow Live to share their concerns over the danger they pose to pedestrians and drivers.

A number of electric bikes have been seized over the weekend following concerns were raised by the community.

It came after we reported in September, last year, that since 2020 there have been 1803 incidents involving Pedal Cycle or Electric Bikes across Scotland. Of these, 30 have been fatal with a further 713 described as 'serious.' Other dangerous incidents in Glasgow have included the bikes being driven over the Kingston Bridge and through the Clyde Tunnel.
