No fewer than 15 suspected hoodlums, who invaded four villages in Ado-Odo Local Government Area of Ogun State, weekend and inflicted injuries on the residents and carted away cash and other valuables, have been arrested by the Ogun State Police Command.
The hoodlums numbering over 50, were said to have announced their presence with sporadic gun shots which jolted villagers in Alaagba, Betiku Ashipa, Alapoti and Olorunleke communities. They were said to have ransacked the helpless villagers’ homes and made away with the their motorcycles used for commercial and farming purposes.
When the dust settled, five persons whose identities were given simply as Alaagba, Betiku, Ashipa, Alapoti and Olorunleke were reportedly left in the pool of their blood. Narrating his ordeal in the hands of the hoodlums, one of the residents, Saubano Elekuro, said: “I have never had such an experience in my life. I was at home when I heard gunshots. Before I could fathom where they were coming from, some armed men forced their way into my house and started beating everyone. I pleaded with them not to injure or kill anybody, but the plea fell on deaf ears.
