A dad slammed a shopkeeper's head into a fridge then punched him in the face because the man had refused to serve his 13-year-old son an energy drink. Stephen Brown, 38, has admitted assault causing grievous bodily harm after losing his temper over the drink most shops won't sell to children.
The boy's mother then came into the shop. The shopkeeper explained why he could not sell her son the drink, and the woman took the drink away from her son and was given back the money, reports The Echo. The shopkeeper suffered a broken eye socket, nose and cheekbone, and was left with blurred vision, permanent numbness in his face, headaches, and scarring. Brown, of Lorenzo Drive, Norris Green, initially denied the attack.
