October, home to Halloween, which is rooted in our ancient Celtic tradition of Samhain, is believed to be a strong spiritual month and a powerful time for manifestation.
“Being a priestess is just a nice title for what I am. I’m Catholic, and I have a strong faith. I’m into tarot as well, which is a contradiction to some people but not to me. I am one of 10 children, with four brothers and five sisters. It was just the girls that were psychic in our family, so we were like a little coven when you think about it.”
But staying in alignment with one’s higher self can be challenging – even for a priestess. “It can be testing, especially if you’re on social media, where your energy’s been pulled from all directions. This can draw you back into your ego,” admits Máire. “The energy levels of positive people are a gift to uplift others while energy vampires with low energy drain life from people unconsciously and unintentionally. They just latch on. I avoid big crowds because I know I will be drained.
It is well documented that people have a limited amount of mental energy to spend each day. But chaotic lives along with long spells spent on screens can deplete our life force and that is not to mention energy vampires. Máire suggests protecting yourself from the latter by burning sage and palo santo, which translates to “holy wood” in Spanish.
“When I first got into this work, I brought paranormal activity into my home, not intentionally, and there was a lot of disruption. The only way I could cleanse my house was by praying. That brought me back to my faith, and everything became peaceful again. Then I started seeing white feathers everywhere.
“I used to go live on TikTok, but now I just do the private readings. I use tarot cards, oracle cards and do palmistry and astrology,” she says. Proponents of the law of attraction believe that your thoughts create your life via the energy you send out which comes back to you, and Máire is a strong advocate. “I’m a believer of the law of attraction; what goes on in your mind is like a projector, it will be shown on your life screen, your outside reality,” she tells RSVP .
