It’s a worrisome time of year for many households across the country who are struggling to meet the increased cost of living, along with all the usual Christmas expenses

In a bid to help homes cope with high energy costs, the government sent an information booklet to every household reminding them of the state supports available to people who are worried about paying for electricity and gas.

The four government supports outlined in the campaign aimed at helping people cover their energy bills are: CRU has extended the moratorium on energy disconnections for bill pay domestic electricity accounts to three months and this is in effect from 1 December 2022 until 28 February 2023. This means that no bill pay customer will be cut off by their energy supplier during this period.
