The Pickled Goose in Barton has closed its doors due to the increase in energy costs 😔

The popular restaurant aims to re-open once the ‘current situation’ is settled down.The restaurant shared the announcement on its social media accounts, including Facebook: “It is with heavy hearts that we are announcing that the Pickled Goose has had to close its doors for the foreseeable future.

“The past couple of years has been tough on so many businesses like ours and in the last few months we have seen a huge increase in our energy costs, which unfortunately leave us with no alternative but to close. “We hope that the current situation settles and allows us to reopen before too long. We would like to thank our wonderful customers for their support and hope to see you all again soon.”The comments section is flooded with support and well-wishes for the small business.

One person said: “So sorry to hear this. Food, service and staff all top notch. The Goose has been a firm favourite since it opened. Fingers, eyes and legs crossed you’re in a position to open your doors again before long.” Another said: “We had our family meal with you the night before we got married, it was beautiful. We were looking forward to joining you for our anniversary in March. Hope you open again soon.”
