Origin Energy reported a 7 per cent increase in third-quarter revenues from its stake in the Australia Pacific LNG (APLNG) project on Friday.

Origin Energy reported a 7 per cent increase in third-quarter revenues from its stake in the Australia Pacific LNG project on Friday, as Australia’s largest retailer continues to profit from soaring global demand for the gas.

Reflecting the dip in gas prices, Origin said revenues from the APLNG unit were 13 per cent lower than the $3.18 billion that the unit took in during the three months ended December 31, 2022. “Operationally, drier weather conditions enabled higher well workover activity and this supported steady production output for the quarter. Australia Pacific LNG has continued to meet its commitment to provide Australian businesses with access to competitively priced gas, recently completing new gas sales to major business customers at the capped price of $12/GJ.”
