The 64-year-old man was driving on Normanby St, Brighton, at 12.30pm on March 30, with his wife in the passenger seat, when he allegedly came up behind a young male riding an electric skateboard.Watch the latest news and stream for free onSoon after, as the man was driving on nearby The Esplanade, the younger male approached his car and allegedly assaulted him with the electric skateboard.

The driver had surgery the following day after suffering significant injuries including a fractured eye socket and has lost part of his vision.Police expect to charge the teenager on summons with intentionally cause serious injury and recklessly cause serious injury.
