South Africa was immediately reminded of how its energy woes have become an existential threat to both its economy and national security after the pylons carrying electricity to the capital were sabotaged, forcing Eskom to announce a ‘Stage 8’ electricity outage.while Ford car makers, lost some 720 vehicles a day at its flagship factory.The question is who is benefitting from it?

There is a counter-effort being mounted outside the political scene as South Africans look for innovative ways to develop energy facilities. But rather than welcome such initiative, many are being pushed back.as turned into a tale of organised crime, invested interests, and growing debts.
